Mindy Lynn Faulkner
At the young age of seven, I began doing plays and I knew what I wanted to do with my life. Call it intuition or just a gut feeling, but I knew I wanted to be in front of the camera when I grew up. Every chance I got to be in a play at church or local programs I jumped at the chance. At that time I wasn't certain why it was something I loved so much. I simply did!
I so badly as a child wanted to actually pursue the dream I had but knew it would be impossible to do without my parents help. Being as I'm the 7th child of 12 children there was no way that was something my parents could commit to. So I waited until I was an adult and could answer it on my own.
I remember that exhilarating feeling I possessed when I could finally start my journey to become an actress! I set out by enrolling in classes and learning what I could about the business, finding an agent then auditioning for almost anything. Mostly student Films at that time or commercials my agent sent me on. I was able to book quite a bit and felt amazing!
After a few years I quickly came to recognize how competitive and hard this career I have chosen is. Not going to lie, I have a few times thought about doing something "easier" with my life, but couldn't ever bring myself to fully give up. How could I give up on my dreams? I only live one life and its its my choice to live the life I desire!
I am now an adult and know why I love acting. I love it because I love people and all their stories. I love igniting different emotions in myself and determining how I feel when I'm a character put in different situations. I enjoy when I watch a show and those actors open my eyes to something in me and want to be that actor who does that for someone else.
Growing up in a large family taught me many things, but one of the best things it taught me was to always fight for what I desire. With 11 siblings you have to make your voice heard! It also taught me how to relate and enjoy many different personality types. Makes it easier to connect to many different personalities in our world! My passion for this career will never change or waiver. My dream can come true!
